If one can be involved, in a Christian home based business, it’s great. Why is the Bible careful, to warn us about wolves dressed in sheep's clothing? Simply because, there are people out there promoting unethical businesses. They do so, without any thought of right or wrong. Their conscience has been drowned out, by their misdeeds. They may no longer feel the pangs. And yet, we were all like they were once. Let us not be so quick to judge others, but rather let us be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
While you are on your quest to find the right christian home based business, just remember that, by their fruit you shall know them. While it is good to believe that most people have your best interests at heart, we all know the reality of the world we live in.
We must do our due diligence to carefully investigate every opportunity presented to us. We should look, not only at what a company or person says, but to look carefully at what they do. Their actions must match their rhetoric.
Unfortunately, many Christians are themselves unwittingly drawn in to
schemes and scams
as they desperately want to believe in an easy solution to their dreams. The scammers and schemers prey on our dreams and our desires for easy solutions.
“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” -- Proverbs 14:23“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.” -- 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
Where does a Christian get the wisdom to avoid being caught in a scheme or a scam? Simply by reading God’s word and following it’s wisdom.
Reading proverbs daily
has in it the promise of wisdom and understanding. One may also wish to consult wise counselors.
“Make plans by seeking advice; if you wage war, obtain guidance.” -- Proverbs 20:18
Going to bed each night with a clear conscience from working your christian home business is a wonderful thing. Does this mean that every company you align yourself with must be ran by Christian people? It would be great if that were possible, but it doesn’t always work out that way.
Doing business with a Christian brother or sister is a preferred, if possible. My belief is, to always do business in an ethical manner all the time. Everyone can make a mistake. We must understand that we, and those we do business with, are all sinners saved by grace.
What do we do when asked to participate in illegal or unethical business practices? Simply say I’m sorry, I just cannot be involved in what you are suggesting. Our goal as Christian business people should be: Doing our business, in such a way, that our fruit alone, speaks louder than our professions of faith.
The world looks with a skeptical eye upon those of us who profess to be Christians. They have seen plenty of hypocritical religious folks. We Christians must do our best to do business in a way that is above reproach. When we make a mistake we know we have an advocate who cares for us.
In these challenging days Christian business people are learning what it means
to walk in faith.
Psalm 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Also see my article
